Index to records of grants by the Governor to the United States from the Virginia Land Office, 1874-1908.

These records contain card file index divided into two sections. The first is arranged alphabetically by the name of the site. Also on the card are the name of the county in which the site was located, the date of the transfer, the page on which both the deed and plat were entered, and a brief description of the tract which includes the acreage. The second section is an alphabetical listing of place names found in the text of the transfer and on the plat.
