Physicist. Ernest Joachim Sternglass (born 1923) came to the United States in 1938. He received a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell in 1944 and and M.S. and Ph.D. in Applied & Engineering Physics in 1951 and 1953. From 1952 to 1967, he worked at the Westinghouse Research Laboratory on nuclear instrumentation, especially fluoroscopy, and he headed the Lunar Station program there.
