Two diaries (1944-1945) kept by William A. (Bill) King, a Minneapolis man who served with the United States Navy in Germany during World War II. The diaries begin with King's crash landing after being shot down while on a bombing mission over unspecified enemy territory and detail his experiences while subsequently interned by the Soviets. There is a file of letters received from military officials by his father, Lyndon M. King, concerning Bill's whereabouts and his eventual release.
