The files are mainly those of Director Padilla, but also include materials of other Commission staff, most notably Thomas H. Swain and Virginia Huck, and of Vernon Pope and his staff. Divided into correspondence (1956-1959) and alphabetical subject files (1956-1958), they include letters, telegrams, interoffice memos, meeting notes, project lists, reports, minutes, press releases and press kits, certificates and proclamations, invitations, drafts and finished copies of promotional publications, clippings, progress reports, photographs, itineraries, planning materials, sample souvenirs, scripts, and other publicity materials.
