Sarah Miltia Hill was born in Roger's Prairie (now Normangee), Texas in 1895. Katherine Bell Hill was born in Santa Anna, Texas in 1906. Both received B.S. degrees in education from the College of Industrial Arts (now Texas Woman's University) and taught at schools and colleges in Texas.
