Campus plan maps, 1905-

Consists of planning maps used in long range planning of the University of Florida's Gainesville campus. The earliest maps, produced by the architectural firm of Edwards and Walter, date from the conception of the Gainesville campus in 1905. Additional plans were developed by the firm's successor, Edwards and Sayward. In 1925, Rudolph Weaver, Director of the University's School of Architecture, assumed the position of Architect for the State Board of Control (now Board of Regents) and directed the next phase of campus planning. In the period following World War II, campus planning was delegated to a consulting architect whose proposals were submitted to the Architect and a campus planning committee. In the 1970s, a campus planning office was created. Most of the items in this series are copies of plans, some are original drawings, and several are printed brochures or leaflets.
