Weaver, Rudolph, 1880-1944
Variant namesRudolph Weaver was Architect to the Florida Board of Control (later Board of Control) and the first director of the School of Architecture (now College of Architecture) at the University of Florida. He taught at the University of Illinois and the University of Idaho and was architect for Washington State University (then State College of Washington) before coming to Florida.

Rudolph Weaver was the Architect to the Florida Board of Control as well as the first director of the School of Architecture at the University of Florida. He taught at the University of Illinois and the University of Idaho prior to coming to Florida in 1925. He received his Diploma in Architecture from Drexel Institute in Philadelphia, Pa. and the Gold Prize in June 1905. In June 1919 he received a B.S. in Engineering from Drexel Institute. He studied at the Beaux-Arts Atelier Hambostle (1909) and Harvard University (1925).
Rudolph Weaver designed many buildings for a number of educational institutions, including the State College of Washington, the University of Idaho, the University of Florida, the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical College (Florida A and M), and Florida State College for Women. He also designed the Florida State Road Department Building.
