Scrapbooks, 1932-1948.

The collection contains five scrapbooks of clippings from Cox's tenure on the bench, 1932-1946, with a few items from 1947-1948. The clippings are mainly about cases in Cox's court, but include political matters in which he was interested, especially election fraud and taxation.

A native of Indianapolis, Cox graduated from Indiana Law School in 1908, and practiced law and held judicial positions in the city until his death. In 1932 Cox was elected circuit court judge in Marion County and served two terms. Cox's most important early case dealt with the failure of the Meyer-Kiser Bank.
