Correspondence, published and unpublished writings relating to Mormon history, hypnotism, and North Dakota topics, including Indians and oil. Numerous subject files, including several on his patents for a pneumatic automobile jack and an attachment for pitchers, Young Citizens League, of which he was president, two letters from David F. Barry, pioneer photographer of Indians, and one from Philip Wylie. Unpublished writings include "Cupid makes a bet," a romance between an orphan and a wealthy businessman's daughter, "Old Baldy's children," a mystery set on an island named Old Baldy, and "Early Mormon history." Clippings, in serialized format, of his articles entitled "Indians of North Dakota," "Hero stories of North Dakota," and "The Flickertail state."

Philip Gordon Wylie was born in Beverly, Mass. In 1902. He attended Princeton University during 1920-1923. A writer of fiction and nonfiction, his output included hundreds of short stories, articles, serials, syndicated newspaper columns, novels and works of social criticism. He also wrote screenplays while in Hollywood, was an editor for Farrar & Rinehart, served on the Dade County (Fla.) Born at Hemlock Lake, N.Y. Taught high school in New York and Illinois, later moved to Valley City, N.D. where he taught at Valley City State Teachers College from 1910 to 1954. Wed Fern Stephenson in 1911. Introduced Young Citizens League to North Dakota and South Dakota schools in 1927 and was active in local and state Kiwanis.
