Johnson was associated with the Aspinook Co., Griswold, Conn.; the company was involved in bleaching, dyeing, printing and finishing of cotton, linen, silk and other textiles. It ceased operations in 1937, at which time the Aspinook Corp. in Jewett City, Conn., was formed. Johnson was one of the principal underwriters of the new company and served as president and treasurer. Schuller graduated from Hope College in 1947 and Western Theological Seminary in 1950. In 1955 he started a drive-in Church at an old concession stand in California. His brand of possibility thinking became very popular, allowing him to begin a weekly, nationally televised religious program entitled the "Hour of Power" and to build the architecturally impressive Crystal Cathedral.
