The collection consists of 92 pamphlets, booklets, leaflets, and other publications on politics, radicalism, and social problems. Among the authors are Oscar Ameringer ("the Mark Twain of American Socialism"), philosopher-activist Raya Dunayevskaya, William J. Fielding, John Spargo, John Strachey, the theologian and pacifist Norman Thomas on Russia, race relations, peace, New Deal socialism, and workers' rights, Communist leader Gus Hall, and the Scottsboro Defense Committee. Many pamphlets were produced by the Socialist Party of America, whose press circulated over three hundred publications by 1913.
