Charles Augustus Lindbergh (February 4, 1902 – August 26, 1974) was an American aviator, military officer, author, inventor, and activist. Leopold, Aldo, 1886-1948

Leopold was born in Burlington, Iowa and received a Master of Forestry degree from Yale University. In 1909 he joined the U.S. Forest Service and from 1914-1924 he supervised national forests in Arizona and New Mexico. He established the first wilderness area in the Gila National Forest, New Mexico and was a founder of The Wilderness Society. In 1933, he accepted the chair of Game Management at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where he taught until his death on April 21, 1948....

Gabrielson worked for the U.S. Bureau of Biological Survey from 1915 to 1940, becoming Chief in 1934. In 1940, the Survey became the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and Gabrielson served as director until 1946. From 1946 to 1970, he served as President of the Wildlife Management Institute, then as chairman of the Board from 1970 to 1977.
