Story Birdseye was born 28 November 1906 in Spokane, WA. He graduated from high school in 1925 and graduated from the University of Washington. He met his wife on a train trip home from college in 1927. After dating several years, they were married in 1931. Story Birdseye practiced law in Seattle, WA from 1930 to 1955 with the firm Jones, Birdseye and Gray. He was appointed special prosecutor to a King County grand jury in 1947.
