Autograph letter signed from Richard Rigby, Mistley, to Mrs. Garrick [manuscript], 1787 September 30.

Received her letter respecting the disposal of the vacant living at Hindon. He was surprised when she told him that the gentleman she chose was not in Holy Orders. Since he cannot be ordained, Rigby cannot give consent to the gentleman's nomination of any other person.
