379th Engineer Battalion records (2004-2005) consists of a partial hardcopy of the history of the 379th Engineer Battalion's service during Operation Iraqi Freedom II as well as a full digital copy of their service. This collection consists of a looseleaf binder containing deployment orders, a partial narrative history of the battalion's service in Iraq; an autobiographical statement by each member of the battalion outlining service; photographs; newspaper clippings; and a brochure of the welcome home ceremony. In addition, there is a CD containing the full text of the history, a CD of 379th Engineer Battalion 96th Regional Readiness Command, 2006 Annual Historical Record, and a booklet entitled "Warrior-Citizens of America." (SC 2504).

The 379th Engineer Battalion, headquartered at Fort Missoula, Montana, provides command and control for separate engineer companies and engineer team. In September 2003, the Battalion was notified it would be deployed to take over the mission of the Mine and Explosive Ordnance Information Coordination Center (MEOICC) in Iraq, as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The unit left Fort Missoula January 5, 2004 and after a period of training arrived in Baghdad on April 16, 2004...
