The Papers of Clark D. Ahlberg. 1968-1983.

The collection contains administrative files on Ahlberg's tenure as President of Wichita State University (1968-1983). Information relating to almost every aspect of the administration of the University is included in the collection. The collection also contains a large amount of information related to the airplane crash of October 2, 1970. Many members of the Wichita State University football team, coaches, and supporters traveling with the team were killed in the crash.

Clark Ahlberg was born in Wichita, Kansas in 1918. He graduated from the University of Wichita in 1939, and then attended Syracuse University. He earned both the masters degree and doctorate in political science at Syracuse. After holding administrative jobs at Syracuse University, he accepted a position in the New York State Budget Division. He returned to Syracuse University in 1959 as Vice President.
