Saying that he is not reading her book on the orchestra, he is devouring it, enclosing [present] printed excerpts in English of letters from Hans von Bülow to Giuseppe Verdi and from Verdi to von Bülow in which von Bülow expresses deep regret that he pro-Wagner enthusiasm blinded him to Verdi (Verdi replies that there is no need to talk of penitence and absolution), and sending [not present] a recording of an unidentified work, etc.
