Saying that Richard Wagner's letter to Eduard Röckel of 15 March 1851 should be of very great interest to Houston Stewart Chamberlain, who wrote in his book on authentic Wagner letters to F. Praeger [i.e. Richard Wagners echte Briefe an Ferdinand Praeger] that "this so-called autograph ... cannot be from Wagner," adding that "I am afraid that it will be something of an shock to Mr. Chamberlain to find that the letter does indeed exist!" discussing the significance of the letter, particularly as regards the part Wagner took in the uprising in Dresden in 1848, also discussing Wagner's letter to Prosper Sainton of 19 December 1855, mentioning Liszt, Costa, etc.
