Concerning [in 1840] the piano-vocal score of [Die Zerstörung Jerusalems], asking him to send copies of it and the choral parts to Steinheim in Altona, to his brother Joseph Hiller in Frankfurt am Main, and three to Hiller himself so he may send a dedication copy to Mendelssohn, saying that he hears the most extraordinary things about Mendelssohn's new work, mentioning [Ferdinand] David, [Heinrich Conrad] Schleinitz, [Otto] Nicolai's Templario (which will be given at La Scala on the 15th), Max Bohrer, [Theodor] Döhler, Soldini, etc.; and asking [in 1841] Kistner to send to [Francesco] Florimo, the librarian at the Florence conservatory, a list, with prices, of the most important scores of Bach, Beethoven, Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Weber, Mendelssohn published by Kistner, and saying that Steinheim does not wish to claim authorship [of the libretto of [Die Zerstörung Jerusalems] and asking if Kistner can remove his name from the title pages of the full and piano-vocal scores.
