Complaining that there are five systems to a page in the Goethe songs, criticizing the look of the proof pages, insisting that some songs be re-engraved, returning the songs again for further corrections and alterations, complaining about the engraver, "who is obviously no genius," specifying, for "Phàˆnomen," the number of bars for each line of music, stating emphatically that slow pieces should be printed wider, etc.
