Autograph letter signed, dated : Paris, [22 December 1858], to an unidentified friend, 1858 Dec. 22.

Asking him to put a notice in the Pays about a first performance the Saturday before chez Rossini: La laitère de Trianon, words by Galoppe d'Onquaire, music by We[c]kerlin, sung by Mira and Biéval; from beginning to end "le grand maître" [i.e. Rossini] gave the signal for applause; at the end the authors were called, and poet and composer improvised a scene [Weckerlin writes out the text], adding that to the last reprise, "le compositeur a mis en double thème la prière de Moïse," etc.
