Autograph letter signed, dated : Dresden, 27 November 1821, to Fried[rich] Kind, 1821 Nov. 27.

Reporting on the great success of their Freÿschütz, saying that he has thought a long time about the proper gift to show the librettist his appreciation but knows, from experience, that recipients never find useful what Weber does, so that his gifts fulfill only half their function, sending something and asking Kind to do with it whatever will bring joy to him and his, etc.
