Saying that Act II of Siegfried is nearly complete, asking if he should send the new manuscript to a copyist, saying Seroff and Schlosser wish to be admitted to the rehearsals, telling Richter to give Schlosser Wagner's instructions concerning the role of Loge, saying he plans a performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony at the cornerstone-laying ceremony at Bayreuth, asking Richter to come and assist, recommending that if the Ring is begun with Die Walküre that it be followed by Siegfried, then Götterdämmerung, and that Das Rheingold then be performed last, not after Die Walküre, mentioning Hallwachs, Betz, Liszt, etc.
