Autograph letter signed, dated : Naples, 6 February 1873, to an unidentified baron, 1873 Feb. 6.

Saying that the day before it was established between himself and Ricordi that the roles for Aïda would be distributed by the management and that the rehearsals would begin that morning but that neither the distribution nor the rehearsal announcement came about, saying he will never allow the opera to be performed the way all other productions are at San Carlo, adding that his opinion is not to give Aïda.
