Saying that the date suggested is impossible since he plays in Paris on 29 January, that the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th are taken up by rehearsals and concerts in Brussels, that he is free all of January and asking if another date could not be arranged, accepting the fee of 500 Marks, saying that he does not wish this engagement to be made through the intervention of M. [Hermann?] Wolff, etc.
