Autograph letter signed, dated : Berlin, 2 November [1780], to an unidentified recipient, 1780 Nov. 2 and 1780 Nov. 3.

Saying that Mme [Gertrud Elisabeth] Mara has written to her father and a friend that she will arrive in Berlin at the end of November for rehearsals but that she is afraid of incurring the king's [i.e. Frederick the Great's] displeasure, adding that after an extensive search at the copyist's house he found the score of [Gluck's] Armida; on the verso is an unsigned reply to Reichardt's letter (probably a draft), dated Potsdam Nov. 3 1780, saying that His Majesty asks Reichardt to write to Mme Mara to come to Berlin in time for the opera rehearsals, etc.
