Concerning his series of historical concerts, asking if Bennett will attend his son's [Max Pauer's] performance of Chopin's Third Sonata, asking Bennett to announce Pauer's 50th anniversary as a performer, asking Bennett's advice concerning the title of his book of biographies of pianists, composers for the piano, and piano makers, asking Bennett to announce that "I leave England for good at Easter [1896]," having worked there for 45 years, adding that he will retire to his house in Jugenheim, that his successor at the Royal College of Music will be Mr. Dannreuther, saying that one has only to hear Mendelssohn's songs to know that "he had not nearly as warm a heart" as Schumann possessed, etc.
