Autograph letter signed, dated : Vienna June 7 1820, to C.F. Peters in Leipzig, 1820 June 7.

Acknowledging an order for two instruments in mahogany and two in walnut, adding that the orders for these six-octave instruments far exceed the supply and that the profit is small, saying that Aloys Schmidt's [i.e. Schmitt's?] comments have confirmed Streicher's belief that he must build instruments for true pianists and not bow to the taste of a superficial public, elaborating on the construction of his instruments, saying that he was [Franz Xaver Wolfgang] Mozart's teacher from his eighth to his fourteenth year but that in a Berlin newspaper only Neukomm and Albrechtsberger are named, complaining that musicians are an ungrateful lot, mentioning Steiner, etc.
