Autograph letter signed, dated : [n.p., Berlin] Dec. 8 1824, to Neukon [i.e. Sigismund Neukomm?], 1824 Dec. 8.

Saying Spontini occupies the finest and most honorable position that ever existed in the world for a composer--he would rather end his career on the battle field than be entombed in the intrigues of the country Neukomm inhabits [France]--, that he soon begins the rehearsals of his new opera, Alcidor, that he conducts Haydn's Saisons and parts of Alcidor on the 10th at a benefit concert, that on the 9th he conducts Nurmahal, then a rehearsal of Olimpie for Therese Grünbaum, first singer of Vienna, etc.
