Autograph letter signed, dated : Leipzig Sept. 5 1831, to his brother Julius Schumann in Zwickau, 1831 Sept. 5.

Confessing his dread of cholera, saying he would like to go to sunny Italy, or, for the present, to Augsburg with Wieck (who is going to Paris with Probst), or to Weimar to be with Hummel, but admitting that he has no desire to travel and is making progress with his music, repeating his anxiety over illness and death and suggesting he may go to Italy after all, etc.
