Apologizing for not appearing for dinner, mentioning his mother's illness, inviting the recipient to the Zurich festival the next month, where Saint-Saëns will conduct parts of La lyre et la harpe, adding that he will be in Bayreuth on 6 August and at the Birmingham festival at the end of August, etc.
