Autograph letters signed (2), dated : Weimar Jan. 10 1861, and Rome Nov. 6 1875, to [Schuberth], 1861 Jan. 10 and 1875 Nov. 6.

Expressing pleasure that Schuberth will publish his "Faust Symphony," like the symphonic poems, in full score and two-piano arrangements, mentioning the "2 Episoden aus Lenau's Faust"--"Der nächtliche Zug" and the "Mephisto Walzer"--, disapproving of the title "Liszt'[s] kleinere Orchester Werke," saying that the 2 Episodes belong to the "Faust Symphony" as a Parerga or Paralopomeno, mentioning his instrumentation of Glinka's "Tscherkessenmarsch" [from Ruslan and Lyudmila], saying he heard from Schott that Schuberth was awaiting his Rheingold transcription, asking Schuberth to send Schott Liszt's manuscript of it and to send them further details concerning his "Jeanne d'Arc," awaiting Schuberth's reply concerning the Cäcilia score, etc.
