Hans [von Bülow] played for them Hungarian rhapsodies, a polonaise and etudes by Chopin, variations by Beethoven, mentioning Liszt's arrangement of [Wagner's] Lohengrin, Mme Sand, Balzac, Daniel Stern [i.e. Marie d'Agoult], Pushkine, Miss Williams, Byron, etc.; Liszt has annotated several words and opinions in the letter with corrections and editorial comments.
