Autograph letter signed, dated : St. Petersburg June 27 1873, to an unidentified colleague, 1873 June 27.

Saying that he has heard nothing from the recipient since he sent his latest work on Liszt, Chopin, Tausig, and Henselt, that his friend the Marquis de Caux has sent Lenz his work on Patti, recommending to the recipient pianos made by Bekker [i.e. Becker], saying the instruments of Bekker-Pettersen [i.e. P.L. Petersen] are better than their earlier ones, just as Beethoven's late works tower over his early and middle ones, mentioning the Neue freie Presse, etc.
