Saying that all his efforts (chamber and orchestral music) were fruitless, that friends and acquaintances (Scherchen, for example) were of no use because Hindemith and Krenek (and a few dozen "Schnellkomponisten") waited daily with new masterworks, which Lendvai cannot do, mentioning some of his works, Puccini, etc.
