Sending a letter [present] from Rhené-Baton, also suggesting Kurt Hetzel as a successor to Dr. Damrosch (or at least a guest conductor), describing Hetzel's astonishingly successful concert in Washington, D.C., praising him as pianist and conductor, adding that he stumbled on another musical "'find'" in Nice [i.e. Rhéne-Baton], who wishes to conduct in America, recommending him very highly also, etc.; with an autograph letter signed, dated Chatou Jan. 29 1927, from Rhené-Baton to Leffingwell, thanking him for his comments about his conducting, expressing a desire to conduct in America but saying that the opportunity has not yet presented itself, etc.
