Samuel Chase (April 17, 1741 – June 19, 1811) was a Founding Father of the United States, an Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court, and a signatory to the Continental Association and United States Declaration of Independence as a representative of Maryland. Martin served as Maryland's Attorney General from 1778-1805 and from 1818-1822. In 1785, he was a member of the Continental Congress; and in 1787, a member of the U.S. Constitutional Convention at Philadelphia. Harper served as a congressman from South Carolina from 1794-1801, after which he practiced law in Baltimore.
