Saying that his overture is a "Festival Overture" and not the "Forest Maid" overture to a manuscript opera, asking if Bennett has, or is likely to have soon, a libretto for a cantata, since a cantata is more likely to be performed than the two operas he has in manuscript--"I am afraid I shall be summoned hence, before the operatic door is opened to me--," mentioning the success of several works, [Charles] Hallé, etc.
