Saying he knows that she, one of the greatest dramatic sopranos of all time, always welcomes new talent, introducing the bearer of the letter, Albertine Meyer, who has a beautiful alto voice, an innately correct musical feeling, great enthusiasm for her art, who, although in straitened financial circumstances, has saved enough to travel to Florence where she wants to study singing with Pietro Romani (the father), that the prince regent has granted a small pension to that end, sending a copy of his newest opera, Le pardon de Ploërmel, sending greetings to Marquis Martellini, Mori[t]z Hartmann, etc.
