Autograph letter signed, dated : Nice, 28 January 1834, to Adolphe Nourrit in Paris, 1834 Jan. 28.

Saying that he was obliged because of his wife's illness to spend the winter in Italy, that, although he has ignored all that happened in the musical and dramatic world of Paris, such is Nourrit's fame that he learned from the Italian papers of the fatal accident at the last performance of Robert [le diable], adding that he is quite content for now that Alexandre Dumas did not keep his word, mentioning Feydeau, etc.
