Thanking him for his Memoires, commenting on them, recalling how, at St. Martin's church in 1774, he saw Giardini conducting "and Lord Sandwich beating the kettle drums," and saying that he wants to try his hand at "an English opera after the Italian manner" and asking for suggestions.
