Autograph letter signed and autograph letter (incomplete), dated : Vienna, 10 June and 9 July 1843, to [Felix Bamberg in Paris], 1843 June 10 and July 9.

Mostly concerning the sale to Bamberg of Fuchs's manuscript of the German version of Gluck's Iphigenie en Tauride, saying Bamberg must never reveal from whom or under what conditions he obtained the manuscript, asking for Bamberg's manuscript of Isouard's and letter of Méhul's, explaining [on 9 July] that the letters to Dr. [Alfred Julius?] Becher and Hr. [Salomon Hermann?] Mosenthal that Bamberg enclosed in his letter to Fuchs were laid with their seals against the Isouard manuscript and that, owing to the extreme heat, they became so firmly stuck to it that in opening Bamberg's letter a large hole was torn in the manuscript, expressing regret that Bamberg did not take more care in the matter, sending him the Gluck manuscript, saying how difficult it is to part with a manuscript that he considers the crown of his entire collection, sending [not present] a list of desiderata for his autograph collection, etc. The Gluck manuscript is now in The Pierpont Morgan Library. With an autograph note signed by Felix Bamberg, dated Paris Dec. 15 1864, concerning his purchase of Gluck's manuscripts from Fuchs (1 p. obl. 8vo.), and the envelope in which Fuchs mailed the manuscript to Bamberg.

2 items (8 p., with the envelope in which Fuchs sent Bamberg the Gluck manuscript.) ; (8vo and 12mo)
