Discussing mutual acquaintances, noting that "everybody talks about [his] letters, and everybody praises them." Concluding with a description of the "convulsions" caused in the Garrick Club because of Thackeray's complaint of the article on him by Edmund Yates, and discussing the controversy, noting that Russell is "better with a Turban round [his] hat over there, --than here, with all this nonsense going on!"
