Letters to Albert Samuel Gatschet : ALS, 1879-1889.

The letters were written from San Francisco, New York, Paris, and various places in Mexico and Central America, and deal primarily with linguistics of the original peoples of Mexico and Central America. There is a copy of Fray Pedro de Llisa's Confesionario en Idioma del Choconate, Paya, Tapaliza, etc.," and bibliographic and linguistic information. A bound volume contains notes, word lists, and clippings (perhaps collected by Gatschet), 1878-1893, relating largely to North American Indian dialects, customs and legends.
