Collection of documents concerning New Mexico, 1681-1841.

Collection of documents relating to the administration of twenty New Mexican governors. Include records of legal proceedings; reports concerning battles with the Indians; petitions from inhabitants of Albuquerque and elsewhere; decrees and orders concerning Indians, presidios and missions. These documents, popularly known as the Bancroft Library's "New Mexico Originals," were collected by Pinart. Other "Southwestern Originals" have been added to them.

Ezekial Thatcher was clerk of the Parkville School District, Shasta County, Calif. He emigrated to California from Pennsylvania in 1850 and helped establish the first school district in the Parkville area. He is descended from the Thatchers of Uffington, England, the same family as Denis Thatcher, husband of British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. From the description of H.H.
