Includes a brief section on local geography and topography, a civil and socialogical survey, emphasizin moral conditions and the state of agriculture and industry, and nine appended statistical tables showing baptisms, births, deaths, marriages, and developments in agriculture and industry, for the period 1784-1838 or shorter terms within that period.

Ezekial Thatcher was clerk of the Parkville School District, Shasta County, Calif. He emigrated to California from Pennsylvania in 1850 and helped establish the first school district in the Parkville area. He is descended from the Thatchers of Uffington, England, the same family as Denis Thatcher, husband of British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. From the description of H.H.
