Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington, letter : Stratfield : ALS, 1840 Dec. 13.

Wellington suggests that due to the importance of matters coming up for consideration early in the coming session of the House of Lords it would not be "creditable ... if that House should not be well attended"; he therefore suggests that his Lordship "endeavour to make it convenient to yourself to attend at the Period of the meeting of Parliament."
