Diaries, 1906-1940.

The diaries include accounts related to business or church activities, and entries are mostly short sentences, although some are longer. In addition to the diaries, there is a summary of Baptist related entries, particularly his involvement in St. Elmo Baptist Church, Chattanooga, Tennessee, compiled by his son, James V. Clark in 1970. Though brief in narrative, the diaries also make references to contemporary national and denominational events such as the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and the $75 Million Campaign.
