Nancy Hays Teeters received the A.B. from Oberlin College in 1952 and was awarded a graduate fellowship in economics to the University of Michigan. From 1957 to 1974, she worked for the federal government in various research positions. In 1974, she became the Chief Economist to the U.S. House Committee on the Budget. Abbot Low Mills Jr. (1898-1986) was born in Portland, Oregon and educated at Harvard. His father, Abbot Low Mills, was president of the First National Bank of Portland. Mills, Jr. started working for the bank as a messenger in 1922 after graduating from college.
