The Tooheys discuss his grandparents' acquisition of the farm by homesteading; the family's Irish roots; inheritance of the farm property; the construction of the first house on the property; their wedding celebrations; William's service in the Navy from 1918 until 1922 or 1923 including his participation in a group of entertainers which traveled around the country with various celebrities (Pat O'Brien, Jack Benny, Sousa) to raise money for the Navy Relief Society; music and barn dances; raising crops and livestock on the farm; using tile to improve field drainage; and upkeep of the farm buildings.
